The Georg Jensen Flagship Store is situated in the heart of old Copenhagen.
With a simple and elegant presence, the Georg Jensen facade stands out in the street.
Entering the Georg Jensen shop you meet a serene scene.
The inviting staircase is suspended from a massif wall rising up through the entire store, through gaps in the decks. In the wall, small treasure cases project in glass, revealing jewellery in various levels against the rough texture.
Glass columns, glowing with light and reflections from the items inside them, are pushing through the decks giving one the sense of infinity.
A large number of concealed storage units allowed us to work with mainly open spaces.
Pivoting leather panels together with a fissure in the ceiling create dramatic effects as sunlight penetrates and changes throughout the day.
The Georg Jensen Flagship Store was designed in co-operation with architects Hvidt & Mølgaard and Georg Jensen.
